Our setting is Telluride, Colorado-world-famous for its ski slopes and dramatic scenery. Telluride is also home to some great cuisine, and we’ll be exploring it all. Anchored at the historic New Sheridan Hotel, our visit includes a profile of its excellent restaurant The Chop House, along with three other of Telluride’s best eateries.
Some of the greatest North American and European riders competed in the Canadian mass start downhill mountain bike race on Whistler Mountain. Here there is no such thing as bad riding conditions. Everything is welcome from snow, mud, and gnarly root infested single track. Men and women, in their respective category, battled against each other in hopes of reaching the finish line first or in most cases, one piece. RedBull.com

Since 2009, Mountain Threads has operated a sound business model, serving customers across the ski mecca of Colorado. Extending its hassle free concept to a broader geography makes sense for Mountain Threads and the customer. By shipping directly to accommodations with a pre-printed return label inside the box, all the customer has to do is stick the return label on the outside, tape it up (tape is even provided in the box), and leave the package at the hotel or lodge for pick-up.

On January 18th, 2012, West Seattle got 4-5 inches of snow, enough to go from Seattle’s highest point (520′ Gatewood Hill) to it’s low point (Puget Sound at Lowman Beach). I call it ‘Urban Backcountry.’ This is something I’ve wanted to do for years, and my new house and the right snowfall presented itself. Glenreagh Mountain Railway, known as the GMR, was established in 1989 as a heritage tourist railway at Glenreagh, near Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. GMR’s objective is to restore and operate a heritage tourist railway on the Glenreagh to Ulong section of the Glenreagh to Dorrigo railway line. GMR is a non-profit, community-based organisation run entirely by volunteers, and has an authority to raise funds under the Charitable Collections Act. The GMR acquired the 35-kilometre section to Ulong in 1999 from the then State Rail Authority of New South Wales, and is currently restoring this section of line as well as rolling stock, to enable the heritage tourist railway to operate. GMR’s current rolling stock includes steam locomotive Z19 class 1919, 4-wheel watergin L568, TAM sleeping car, 2 heritage end-platform cars, S trucks, ex-Sydney interurban cars (“U-boats”) and numerous trikes and track maintenance vehicles. As of December 2005, GMR has completed trackwork to safe working standards for train operation from Glenreagh West Depot 3.5 km west to Talawajah Creek. Steam train operations are scheduled one weekend a month subject to fire bans. Glenreagh Mountain Railways is not currently operating. This is due to the fact that we have not yet managed to renew our safety accreditation, which ran out at the end of January 2008.
